Early Life & Education:
I was born in Sacramento. Attended Donner and Crocker Elementary Schools, California Jr. High; and C.K. McClatchy. Following high school, attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for two years studying Electronic Engineering. Transferred to S.F. State in 1964, graduated in 1966 with a BS in Psychology and minors in Math and Music. Received a Elem. Teaching Credential from SF State in 1968. Returned to SF State and received a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 1978. (Licensed MFT)
Work/Professional Experience:
• Family ownership and operation of Kay’s Silver Lake Resort (1950-1974) (small grocery store, gas pumps, coffee shop, rental cabins, boat rentals, and a camp ground.)
• Worked in the operation from the age of 10 through 28
• Co-managed the resort with Barbara for the last 6 years of operation (1966-72)
Professional Experience:
• Elementary school teacher in Mill Valley for 17 years (1968-1985)
• Elementary school principal in Mill Valley for 17 years (1985-2002)
• Private practice as a Marriage, Family and Child Counselor (limited, part-time practice)
• Retired: July 2002
Currently:
At the present time (2022), all our immediate family are living in Mill Valley, CA. Our son, Zack and his wife, Thais, together with their two children, Nate (15) and West (12), live across town - just a bike ride away. Our daughter, Kate and her husband, Reed, together with their children, Parker (13) and Hadley (11), live just around the corner from us - a 5 minutes walk for the kids.
