"DR. Pepper" was a good, gentle gracious educator, whose welcoming smile greeted students every day. He had an uncanny way of saying something that indicated he was watching and knew your progress at school. His impish sense of humor punctuated the sparkle in his eye. He clearly loved being McClatchy's princiPAL (as he would emphasize when he said that word.) He "graduated" into retirement with our class as we celebrated McClatchy's Silver Anniversary. He remains with us in spirit as we celebrate our 50th Reunion.
Coincidentally, my mother had Mr. Pepper as a grade school principal and remembered him particularly fondly because he would play marbles with her on the school playground. She never forgot his friendliness and accessability.

Did not know Mr. peppers well.
I do remember him being very kind and considerate
He was always nice it seemed to my mother (who worked in the school library).
He treated everyone with the same easy going manner.
