I didn't know Steve real well, but I know he had a good time in his short life. Someone gave me a book to read called The Goat Brothers. It was about Steve and four other guys at University of California Berekely. Steve we miss you R.I.P.
Steve was a wonderful guy who always lived a bit on the edge. I knew him best in his thirties. he was sweet, but a little bit over the edge. That's what killed him. I'll never get over missing hin.
In and around our calculus class, I have warm memories of Steve: playful, generous, restless, curious, cynical, moody and easily amused. He often seemed to be taking in much more than he let on. Would love see what he'd say about his "bro" Larry Colton's myopic distortion of him in Colton's jejune faux memoir Goat Brothers.
A very complex guy with a "jock" facade. I saw him at UC Berkeley from time-to-time. That he was a fellow pilot and airplane fiend, I salute him. Would that he would have lived to become what he always was inside.
