I didn't know Mary too well, but all my memories of her are warm ones.  I do know she had many, many well-deserved friends, as this site will demonstrate.

We met in Kindergarden, Riverside Elementary School, so many years ago. Remember the dance lesson our whole 6th grad class took. What fun that was.   I remember when we lived in South Land Park area riding our bikes up and down the  hills of South Land Drive, what fun we had.  We were good friends and I have so many wonderful memories.  Rest in piece my dear friend.. I will miss you.

Reading others' postings, I wonder why I remember Mary only from McClatchy -- we had other points of intersection in Sacramento (and my father knew her father through the insurance business.) And reading her profile, I am filled with regret that I didn't connect with her in the last 10 years when we have both been here in the Bay Area (and even before because Carmel was one of her favorite places and I lived in Pacific Grove for 25 years!) But I think that ultimately, when we lose someone and are filled with this sense of how much fun and enjoyment they were when we were most connected, and regret that we  might have known one another better, earlier and in greater depth, that is a tribute: we will miss you Mary!

I only knew Mary in high school.  We met again went she lived in Curtis Park.  I believe she was alone. Had been traveling and was selling some wares from Central America or South America.   I purchased a black t-shirt,  at that time  (70' i think) I loved it.  It was expense for the time and only in large. I wore it with shoulder pads.  ha ha.  Well I still have that T-shirt.  I had it pack away for at lease 10 years.    Wow.  Of course I now wear it without the should pads and now it fits fine.  Only you old not bad......Quality right.  Mary was always the best of the best.  R.I. P.  much to young to leave us.

Long ago memories of "parties" at her house in South Land Park in 7th grade and informal get-togethers when I was"dating" (kind-of, until Sam Elliot took her! frown) Susan Inks. An innocent time and just good memories of Mary and her father & mother--kind people...
